Nationals. What a bittersweet mix of emotions.
I walked away as an All-American and scored points for my team, but if I’m being honest, it still doesn’t feel like enough. I keep replaying every jump, every decision, and every moment in my head, wondering what I could have done differently. While I’m grateful for the accomplishment, I came here hoping to leave with more.
At the same time, I am incredibly proud of the fight I put up. Nothing felt right the day I competed. My body didn’t feel right. My jump didn’t feel right. My mind wasn’t as clear as I wanted it to be.
Yet somehow, I still found a way to compete.
There is something strange about being disappointed in your physical performance while being proud of your mental one. I didn’t perform at the level I know I’m capable of, but I showed up, battled through adversity, and refused to quit when things weren’t going my way.
