India Sion, C’2028, is currently participating in a Neuroscience/Stroke Medical Research Internship at Howard University College of Medicine under the mentorship of Gregory Ford. This summer, she is gaining hands-on experience in biomedical research focused on proteomics and peptidomics in ischemic stroke. Her work examines blood-derived peptides collected at 1, 2, and 24 hours post-stroke to explore whether changes in peptide profiles can help predict protein degradation patterns. Through this internship, India is strengthening her foundation in molecular biology, data analysis, and biomedical research while contributing to a deeper understanding of potential early biomarkers in stroke progression.
