Breaking barriers takes courage, creativity, and a willingness to tell stories that haven't been told. For our final #TempleMadeTUesday of Pride Month, we're celebrating Cheryl Dunye, KLN ’90, an award-winning filmmaker, director, educator, and Temple alumna whose work has helped reshape independent cinema. As the first openly Black lesbian to direct a feature film with "The Watermelon Woman", Cheryl has opened doors for new voices and perspectives in film. Through her creativity, leadership, and commitment to storytelling, Cheryl continues to inspire audiences and future generations of filmmakers. This #TempleMadeTUesday, we're proud to celebrate Cheryl and the lasting impact she's making in film and beyond.
