Women say "sorry" more than men — but research suggests it's not because we're weaker or doing more wrong. It's because we're more attuned: we notice every small moment someone might be inconvenienced.
The problem? Somewhere along the way that awareness tips into apologizing for existing. "Sorry to bother you." "Sorry, quick question." "Sorry to follow up." We shrink ourselves before anyone else gets the chance.
Here's the swap I give my clients → trade "sorry" for "thank you."
"Sorry I'm late" → "Thanks for waiting."
"Sorry to bother you" → "Thanks for your time."
Same warmth. You just stop making yourself small.
That apology reflex is usually an old block running on autopilot — and it can be cleared.
