Aweso Noor ’14 was spotlighted on WGRZ-TV Ch. 2’s “Selfless Among Us” feature this week for establishing a free sports and mentoring program for Buffalo youth that has already helped hundreds. Noor, who came to Buffalo from Kenya when he was 7 years old, attended NativityMiguel Middle School and CHS before earning a bachelor’s degree and MBA from D’Youville University. "A former refugee is changing lives through soccer, mentorship and hope,” the Ch. 2 headline states, "helping Buffalo kids find opportunity, confidence and a place to belong." Noor, a husband, father of three and business development professional, founded Beyond Borders Athletics, a rapidly growing nonprofit that provides free athletic, academic and mentoring opportunities to refugee, immigrant and underserved youth across Buffalo.
