Lately, I’ve noticed a common thread running through so many of the conversations I’m having, both behind the chair and in my own life. We’re all trying to make sense of where we’re going, who we’re becoming, and how we find meaning in a world that feels so different from the one we thought we were preparing for. Today’s conversation happened to be about purpose. It made me wonder if we’ve accidentally tied our identity to our projects. Because what happens when the job changes? Or the business ends? Or the thing you’ve always been known for is no longer the thing you’re doing? Do we lose our purpose… or do we just lose one of the projects that gave our life structure?
