dr.emilycarr recently completed her PhD in Immunology, following a journey that began with a childhood fascination for science. Reflecting on her journey, she has a message for the next generation of scientists: ‘You can do it. However hard it is, however it feels like things are stacked against you. Even if some around you don’t understand or believe in you, you can do it. That’s the truth. You can do it!’ Emily works in the Sarah-Rowland Jones lab in the Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology in the Nuffield Department of Medicine, as well as the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and City, St George’s University of London.
