After years away from the senior international stage, the Armenian Women’s National Team returned to FIBA competition in 2024 and reminded everyone that the program was still alive. The road back was not easy. Armenia’s last major breakthrough came in 2010, when the team won silver at the European Championship for Small Countries. After that, the senior program went silent for more than a decade. That changed in 2024. A new generation stepped onto the court, earned Armenia’s first official senior win in 14 years and finished sixth in its return to international competition. Now, Armenia is back with more experience, more structure and a chance to keep building. Led by Lia Krumian, Kayla Keshmeshian, Mary Markaryan and Sylvia Vartazarian, Armenia will compete at the 2026 FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries in Peja, Kosovo, from June 23-28.
