Tamil Nadu has appointed former ISRO scientist and "Moon Man of India" Mylswamy Annadurai as the chairman of the State Curriculum Design Committee. The appointment follows the resignation of the committee's previous chairman, Sultan Ahmed Ismail, with the remaining members of the panel being retained. The reconstituted 17-member committee will have a three-year tenure and has been tasked with modernising the State Board curriculum for more than 1.3 crore students. The panel will work to align the syllabus with the State Education Policy, with a focus on science, technology, artificial intelligence, critical thinking, and other future-ready skills. Annadurai is best known for serving as the Project Director of Chandrayaan-1 and for his leadership roles in Chandrayaan-2 and the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan).
