The Argosy IV became a part of Alabama's system of artificial reefs - one of the largest in the country - on July 1. The former Indiana riverboat casino was sunk approximately 23 nautical miles south of Orange Beach to create important marine fisheries habitat and a fishing and scuba diving location. The state of Alabama purchased it for $2.5 million from the owners using GOMESA funds.
