Swipe | This was my first night shooting in Spain. Believe it or not, I rarely get to shoot as a photographer. When I do, it’s often painful to muster up the motivation to start that process of work. On this particular night in late April on the Northern Coast of Spain, the forecast didn’t look promising and I nearly called it. There were a number of people at the best locations, so I just took it all in, didn’t pull out my camera at all. I placed my bet that folks would leave once it started to get dark and the tide began to rise to noticeable concern - darkness always scares off most people, even experienced photographers thinking “that was it, the sunset didn’t happen, time to wrap it up and get out of here while I can still see a little.” With this approach, avoiding the congregations of eagerness and fomo, I figured I would be able to shoot not only one location while everyone was distracted, but perhaps even return to this arch location in time for a late sunset.
