Greenville County deputies said the number of children running away from home continues to rise each year. According to Investigator Joseph Phillips, 352 children were reported missing in Greenville County in 2025. He said cell phones and social media play a role in 99% of runaway cases. "Kids live a different world on the phone and on social media than they do in the house with their parents," Phillips explained.
