Spartanburg city officials said they are taking this year's Fourth of July celebration to the next level to honor America's 250th anniversary. The schedule for Red, White, & Boom on Saturday is stacked with free events. "A lot of battles were fought in Spartanburg County, and we want to make it a point to really emphasize that independent spirit of the Spartan Regiment and what our history is," said Jes Sdao, the city's marketing manager.
