On Friday evening the sunshine returned to Hillsboro Hops Ballpark and so did the Hops offense with a 7-4 win over the Vancouver Canadians. After the Canadians took the lead with a run in the first inning, the Hops offense was silenced for three innings, three up three down. However, Slade Caldwell made some noise with a lead off home run in the fourth. The Hops added two more runs in the fourth after Trent Youngblood walked, advanced to second and third bases on two consecutive wild pitches, then was brought home when Carlos Virahonda grounded out at first. Kayson Cunningham was walked and eventually brought home from third base off a base hit by Jakey Josepha. The Hops picked up two runs in the sixth as Hops hitters moved Trent Youngblood and Carlos Virahonda around the bases to score. In the seventh Wallace Clark singled and was brought home from second base when Slade Caldwell benefited from a Canadians throwing error to get on base.
