Thursday night was not an ideal night for baseball as the Hillsboro Hops struggled to grip their bats and score runs under a constant downpour which resulted in a 7-2 loss to the Vancouver Canadians in a rain shortened game after seven innings. Hops scoring came in the first inning with a sacrifice bunt by Trent Youngblood to bring home Slade Caldwell from third base, then a José Mejía single scored Yasell Soler also from third.
