70 years ago, an unimaginable crime haunted two Long Island families forever. On July 4, 1956, one-month-old Peter Weinberger was kidnapped in broad daylight from his stroller on the back patio of his parents' Westbury home. His remains were found off the Northern State Parkway the following month. His kidnapper, Angelo La Marca, confessed to the kidnapping and was convicted and sentenced to death by electric chair.
