With NFL training camps set to get underway this month, it’s becoming increasingly likely that former Saints star WR Michael Thomas will retire. Thomas, who was released by the Saints in March of 2024, didn’t join a new team the last two seasons and remains a free-agent this far into the summer. Things can change with potential injuries during training camp and the preseason, but if Thomas hasn’t generated any interest thus far, it doesn’t bode well for his chances to get another NFL opportunity. If the 33-year-old Thomas doesn’t play another snap, he’d finish with 565 receptions, 6,569 receiving yards, and 36 TDs in 83 career games and seven seasons for the Saints.
