Breaking Down the 2026 Junior Olympics Selections Last week, USA Field Hockey announced its Junior Olympics Selections. 2026 is the second year since the updated selection pathway, switching from selecting Junior Olympians from the NEXUS Championships to NEXUS Regionals, and making it so that athletes can only compete in one of the two events. Now that we are two years into this rule change, we are beginning to see more fluidity between the two events, with athletes who previously would have competed at NEXUS Championships instead moving into the Junior Olympics pipeline.
