On this date in 1993, Lex Luger bodyslammed WWF Champion Yokozuna aboard the USS Intrepid in New York City. Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji had issued an open bodyslam challenge for the Fourth of July, and stars from the WWF and other sports all failed to lift the champion, including Randy Savage, Crush, Tatanka, Bob Backlund, and the Steiner Brothers. Luger then arrived by helicopter, shoved Bobby Hernan, and stepped into the ring, and slammed Yokozuna.
