“I’m gonna wear them TOMORROW.” 🧡   Last fall, Under Armour SVP of Design, Innovation & Development Kyle Blakely was attending a youth baseball tournament when he noticed a player wearing modified Under Armour cleats. The shoes had a makeshift platform added to one shoe. After the game, Blakely connected with the player’s family and learned that their son Declan, who has a rare leg length discrepancy, had to send his shoes out of state months in advance and spend hundreds of dollars per pair just to be able to take the field.   After hearing Declan’s story firsthand, Blakely partnered with Mark Auger, UA Director of Footwear Development & Engineering, to design and build a custom cleat where they took Declan through fittings, prototypes, and wear-testing to create a solution that would help him perform at his best.   Prior to tonight’s game, Declan’s favorite player, Gunnar Henderson, surprised the youngster with a custom pair of UA Yard Icon cleats - matching the Orioles’ infielder’s...
