Some of the most important people we met in Cape Town will never make the headlines. They don’t wear uniforms. They don’t hold public office. Most people outside their community will never know their name. Yet every day, they quietly help young people choose a different path. When we first sat down together, I expected to hear a story about crime. Instead, I heard a story about resilience. About second chances. About what happens when somebody believes that your past doesn’t have to decide your future. Over the course of filming Ubuntu - acapetownstory, we returned to this conversation again and again.
