Navigating life as a parent is hard enough, as most of you will relate to. But layer in additional needs and it’s a whole other ball game. One thing this journey has taught me is to appreciate the smallest things in life. Even the simplest everyday things like language. You almost quietly accept that there are certain things your child just might never say. For me, that was “I love you.” And honestly, I’d made peace with that. So when he said it completely spontaneously, it took me by surprise in the best possible way. My heart just burst with emotion. Never underestimate how incredible these special people are.
