You’re eating so clean. And still gaining.
First, I promise, you’re not broken.
I’m a nutritionist who’s specialized in women’s health & hormones for over 20 years, and this is one of the most common patterns I see: it’s not that you’re eating junk. It’s that “healthy” and in a “deficit” are not the same thing.
A little feta, nuts, dressing, egg, a good steak on your salad, every one of those is a real, nourishing food. But stacked into one bowl, that salad can quietly run over a thousand calories for a salad! A single handful of trail mix with dried fruit and nuts can hit 300+ on its own.
So you feel like you’re barely eating, the scale says otherwise, and you blame yourself. Your metabolism isn’t broken. You just can’t see what you can’t measure.
Yes, your hormones, blood sugar, and sleep all matter enormously. But so does knowing what’s actually going into your body. Both are true.
Save this for the next time you build a “healthy” meal and wonder why nothing’s changing.
