#GoStars F Jason Robertson has indicated he will be filing for salary arbitration, per friedgehnic. If he does file for arbitration, he will no longer be eligible to sign an offersheet.
RFAs (or their team) can elect to file for salary arbitration, where a neutral third-party arbitrator determines the salary for the player. The deadline for players to file is tonight at 5pm ET.
IMPORTANT: Negotiations can still take place between team and player before the arbitration hearing, and a contract CAN still be reached.
Because of Robertson’s age, he will ONLY receive a one-year contract if he reaches the hearing. This would walk Robertson straight to UFA eligibility in summer 2027.
This gives Robertson major leverage, and forces Dallas to either pay him what he wants before the hearing, trade him, or risk a one-year contract from the arbitrator that walks Robertson right to UFA.
