An Arizona egg farm could pay $1 million and donate 3.25 million eggs after being accused of helping make eggs more expensive. 🥚 Arizona-based Hickman’s Egg Ranch is accused of teaming up with other major egg producers in 2022 to push egg prices higher at grocery stores. The proposed settlement comes after a federal and multi-state investigation into whether egg companies coordinated to inflate prices. Hickman’s would pay $1 million and donate 3.25 million eggs to food banks and nonprofits. Three companies combined would pay $3.3 million and donate 53 million eggs. Hickman’s also lost millions of chickens during the 2025 bird flu outbreak, which also impacted egg prices nationwide. So what do you think raised egg prices more: bird flu, or companies taking advantage? 👀 Send us your stories to be featured on the page.
