An Arizona attorney is facing multiple felony charges after police say he secretly recorded women through their windows.
According to court documents, 51-year-old Mesa attorney Michael DiBenedetto was arrested after two alleged window-peeping incidents in Tempe.
Police say one woman caught him placing an iPhone near her shower window. Investigators later linked him to a second alleged incident days later.
Prosecutors also say DiBenedetto was convicted of unlawful window peeping in Illinois in 2009. During his court appearance, he claimed that case stemmed from gathering evidence for a divorce client.
He is now facing four felony charges, including voyeurism and burglary. A judge set his bond at $25,000.
Do you think a prior conviction should carry more weight if someone is accused of a similar crime again?
