In the MOTW for WPSL East on 6/26, PA Classics hosted Reading United. Both teams were top of the standings, with the Commonwealth Title and the Derby trophy on the line. Neither side waited long, with PA Classics’s Suydam finding a goal in the 6’ and Reading United’s Gehret answering in the 15.’ The rest of the first half was a back and forth battle with incredible saves by both keepers. In the 60’ during the second half, Economopoulos scored for the Classics, and then tallied a brace minutes later in the 63’. But a Classics brace was not the only scoring to be had! Gehret scored for Reading in the 76’ giving her a brace as well. Not to be outdone, she scored again in the 79’, completing her hat trick for the evening. The 3-3 battle continued, with breakaways, corners and offside calls but neither team could break through.
