Ali* is 8 years old who lives with his family in an internally displaced peoples (IDP) camp in
#Somalia.
When Ali first arrived at the camp, he spent most of his time inside the shelter, withdrawn and afraid to interact with others.
Ali’s first days at the child-friendly space marked a turning point. He now reads and writes, speaks in front of others, plays confidently with peers, and even encourages other children to take part.
He loves playing football. At a time when the game is on the world’s biggest stage, it’s also something Ali turns to every day with his friends.
