Happy Fourth of July weekend! ✨ Although Independence Day celebrates independence, we’re also reflecting on “Interdependence Day.” According to Buddhism, we all exist in relationship to other beings, conditions, and causes. In other words, we are not truly separate from one another. This idea is shown in the outer ring of the Wheel of Life, known as the 12 links of dependent origination. It illustrates how ignorance can set off a chain reaction of suffering—and how wisdom can help break the cycle.
