Imagine being told, over and over, that every skill you've built doesn't count for the industry you're trying to break into.
That's what Hayley Conway heard from recruiter after recruiter when she tried to leave the agency world behind. "Those skills aren't transferable."
So she went contract to contract for two years in events, brand activation, PR, deliberately building the skills that would set her up for a career in sport. While everyone told her it was the wrong move, she stayed on the path anyway.
Today, she has one of the most impressive event portfolios, having worked across the Formula 1, the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, the AFL and the Australian Open, and has co-founded her own racing-inspired label, Principal the Label. All built on the exact skills she was told wouldn't transfer.
