Greek World - Warfare Armor and Weapons • Helmets: Made of bronze, these were often crested with horsehair or boar’s tusks for intimidation and recognition. They protected the head while sometimes featuring cheek plates for additional protection. • Shields: Large and circular, made from layers of ox-hide with a bronze covering, the shields were a crucial part of a warrior’s defense.
