Why do rent prices keep skyrocketing in New York City and around the country? This is the hidden cost of real estate development that consumers always end up paying for. I wanted to state the bureaucratic bullshit that goes on. I get fines that I can fight, and I do, but they get pushed into the next hearing and they get 4 shots to postpone before a default and they know a developer can’t sell a project with violations so developers pay and it becomes a line item and the cost of doing business.
