In this vlog, I’m opening up about one of the hardest moments of my medical school journey: failing STEP 1. After months of isolating myself, doing endless UWorld questions, reviewing NBMEs, stressing over COMP scores, and sacrificing so much mentally and emotionally, getting that result was heartbreaking. But this video is also about resilience, rebuilding, and continuing forward even when life doesn’t go according to plan. I’m sharing my experience with STEP 1, the resources I used throughout dedicated, thoughts on COMP preparation, and what this journey has honestly looked like behind the scenes as a Caribbean medical student. I also take you along with me to speaking at Metro Hall in Toronto, reflecting on how life can simultaneously challenge you and still place you in rooms you once prayed to be in.
