Why the Burpee Broad Jumps are your worst Hyrox station
It might not be your fitness.
It might be your technique.
The biggest mistake I see?
Not stepping your feet all the way up to your hands.
Every time you leave your feet 6–12 inches short, you lose that distance on every single burpee.
It doesn’t sound like much…
Until you multiply it over 80 meters.
Now you’ve added 8–16 extra burpee broad jumps just to finish the station.
That’s 8–16 extra times you have to:
* Drop to the floor
* Get back up
* Jump forward
All because of one small technical mistake.
The fix is simple:
✅ Step your feet all the way underneath you.
✅ Get your feet as close to your hands as your mobility allows.
✅ Jump from that position every single rep.
In Hyrox, efficiency beats effort.
Don’t make the station longer than it already is.
Master the mechanics, and you’ll save more time than trying to “just get fitter.”
