Innovation has always driven progress, and Indiana State University alumnus Herald Rea Cox helped lead the way through scientific discovery. 🧬🔬 A 1928 graduate of Indiana State Normal School, Cox revolutionized bacteriology by developing new methods for growing disease-causing organisms—advances that helped make vaccines for Rocky Mountain spotted fever and typhus possible and influenced generations of medical research. His impact was so significant that the bacterial family Coxiellaceae and the genus Coxiella bear his name.
