As the video continues, the officers can be seen walking toward the individual while those nearby react and move away. Consumer fireworks are legal during Canada Day celebrations, but they are never meant to be aimed at people. In a matter of seconds, someone could suffer serious burns, permanent eye injuries, or worse. After much of the country spent Canada Day dealing with severe storms, flooding, fallen trees, and emergency crews working around the clock, it’s disappointing to see dangerous behaviour like this putting even more people at risk.
