The severe weather left a trail of destruction across the city. Homes and businesses reported flooded basements, vehicles were stranded or submerged on major roads, trees and hydro poles were brought down, thousands lost power, and emergency crews responded to countless weather-related incidents. Highway 417 and several major roads were heavily flooded, forcing closures and causing major traffic disruptions.
