Florida State’s defense is looking for a productive 2026 season, and one of the bigger factors in accomplishing that feat is Southern Miss linebacker transfer Chris Jones. Jones was a household name at Southern Miss, where he recorded 134 tackles (9.5 for loss), 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception, and two pass breakups during the 2025 season. The pickup reminds me of when Florida State brought in former UCF linebacker Tatum Bethune in the transfer portal.
