I keep zooming in, and the desert keeps winning. Six formations, six different hours of light: 1️⃣ East Mitten and its neighbors - seen from The North Window at sunset. 2️⃣ Three Sisters - Three Sisters — also from The North Window, at sunset. 3️⃣ West Mitten - an hour before sunset, near the start of the Loop. 4️⃣ Merrick Butte - at Artist's Point, just before sunrise. 5️⃣ Mitchell Butte - from high above, on the rim of Mustang Canyon. 6️⃣ The King On His Throne -the very first stop on the Loop, right as the gold hour began. Every time I pull the lens in tighter, the same thing happens: the rock doesn't get closer. It just gets more impossibly itself.
