❗️BMW just turned the 2027 X5 into its “everything SUV.” The fifth-generation X5 gets a full redesign with BMW’s Neue Klasse styling, new double-X headlights, cleaner bodywork, and a much more futuristic cabin. The biggest story is the powertrain lineup: gas, plug-in hybrid, fully electric, diesel in some markets, and even a hydrogen fuel-cell version later on. For the first time ever, there will be a fully electric X5 called the iX5 60 xDrive, with BMW estimating up to 435 miles of range in the U.S. and up to 525 miles on the WLTP cycle globally. That EV version also brings 800V tech, fast charging, bidirectional charging, and BMW’s latest Gen6 battery setup. The U.S. lineup starts with the X5 40 xDrive in October 2026, while the X5 40, X5 50e plug-in hybrid, and iX5 60 xDrive follow in early 2027.
