In the mid-late 2000s, a driver by the name of Kelly Sutton drove in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series from 2003-2007, making her NASCAR's original Karen-type figure in the sport before Danica Patrick drove...
and boy were they both a disaster or what?
She managed to get a top 30 finish in most, not all, but most of her career... she may not be a flop but her wrecks were more known than her racing career. Especially in 2006 when she needed life-saving medical care in a truck series race before ultimately retiring from the sport.
She may not be known as a woman who struggled with M.S. to get to the track or known for her family's racing style, but she will be remembered for the flop of a NASCAR driver but also as a parent and a symbol for women in a predominately male sport.
