Students in our Advanced Composites and Technologies program are beginning to reveal their carbon fiber skateboard projects as the first composite skins come out of the mold. Using resin infusion techniques and precision composite layups, they’ll bond these carbon fiber skins to a lightweight foam core to create a strong, rigid finished board. Projects like this teach the same composite manufacturing principles used to produce lightweight, high strength components for the aerospace, automotive, and motorsports industries.
