But sometimes… our need for specificity can quietly become a lack of surrender. “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” — Proverbs 16:9 Here’s why I think being overly specific can be damaging: 1️⃣ It makes us more controlling than trusting. 2️⃣ It causes us to become so fixated on the destination that we miss what God is doing in the process—the stretching, the refining, the lessons, and even the joy along the way. 3️⃣ It subtly shifts our confidence from God’s ability to our own plans, leaving little room for Him to exceed what we imagined.
