An Honor Walk was held at Community Regional Medical Center after doctors determined 19-year-old Bobby Criado would not survive catastrophic injuries he received in a car crash.
Criado was registered as an organ donor, so family, friends, and hospital staff lined the hallway to show respect as he was wheeled into the operating room.
He was involved in a crash on Tuesday, June 30th, at the intersection of Avenue 17 and Road 28 1/2 in Madera.
18-year-old Esmeralda Gutiérrez, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Criado, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to the hospital, but doctors said he suffered a catastrophic brain injury and would likely not survive.
