#NationalLeftHandedDay yesterday we'll
#TBT to two of the greatest "lefties" in
#Gopher history. Malisa Barnes led the Gophers at the plate from 2008-2011. The career .350 hitter ranks second in career walks with 109, second in single season batting average (.433), first in single season walks (49), is in the Top 10 for career home runs and was a three time All-Big Ten selection.
Amber Hegland was an offensive force for the Gophers from 1995-1998 and still holds many Minnesota records. She currently sits atop the board in career batting average (.399), first in doubles (60), first in walks (113), second in hits (291), and third in RBIs (175). As for single season records, Hegland is second in single season batting average (.438), fourth and fifth in hits (84 and 83), third in RBIs (61), first and fourth in doubles (24 and 18) and tied for third in walks (36) with 2013 alumna Kari Dorle.
