According to WLOX, Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter said the body was found around 8:45 a.m. Monday morning by a park ranger on the northwest end of Horn Island. Officials have not yet confirmed the identity of the person found. That part matters. Nolan Xavier Wells was last seen Saturday, July 4, around 3 p.m. on Horn Island. He had traveled there with friends, but everyone else reportedly made it back to the mainland without him. His phone was later recovered and returned to his family.
