Yesterday, we stood before the Committee on Youth, Sport and Child Matters to speak about something bigger than sport. We spoke about the girl in a rural school who has talent but no safe field to train on. We spoke about the boy who drops out of sport because there is no pathway beyond district level. We spoke about schools that want to compete but cannot afford transport. School sport is where confidence is built. It is where leadership begins. It is where young people discover who they can become. Yet too many learners are excluded because of weak enforcement, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of protected funding. This is not just about games. It is about opportunity.
