On Sunday 25th May, Sport In Action’s National Netball coordinator, Gideon Mumba, undertook his first training session as the Netball Zambia U20 National Team Head Coach. In preparation for the 2025 Regional 5 Youth Games in Namibia, the session consisted of a friendly match against the men’s team at NAPSA Sports Complex. The game was used to assess skill level, on-court positioning, fitness levels and team dynamics. Here is what he had to say: “I am so happy to be appointed as the U20 National Team Head Coach. I didn’t expect this but I am happy and ready to undertake this task. I have seen most of the players develop through Sport In Action hub sites and the youth league. It is great to see these girls now playing for the national team. Things are going well and all the participants have given me a warm welcome to the team.” #SportInAction #NetballZambia #Regional5
