Please congratulate Oliviya! She’s cancer-free after a #leukemia diagnosis in 2022! When Oliviya was almost five, she began to experience stomach and leg pain. Doctors at her local ER in #Vacaville assumed it was growing pains. Unfortunately, the pain began to worsen, and test results during a second local ER visit revealed the possibility of leukemia. Oliviya and her family came to our #Oakland hospital, where our team diagnosed her with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Oncologist Dr. Natalie Wu and team started Oliviya on an aggressive treatment plan after discovering she was particularly high-risk due to a rare chromosome translocation. Oliviya spent more than 100 days in our hospital and finished chemotherapy in October 2022. She was thrilled to ring the end-of-treatment bell surrounded by her family and care team!
