Sea ice is much more than frozen water. It reflects sunlight, helps regulate global temperatures, and provides essential habitat for countless Arctic species. As it continues to disappear due to climate change, the impacts will be felt around the world. For Arctic communities, the consequences are profound. Diminishing sea ice disrupts traditional ways of life, threatens food security, and makes travel across the landscape increasingly dangerous.
